Nanga Trustees

Stephen Ucembe has a background in social work, child development, and social policy for development, and brings over 15 years of experience in child care and protection. He currently serves as Regional Advocacy Manager at Hope and Homes for Children and as the organization’s Kenya Representative. In his role, Stephen works to influence laws, regulations, and standards on child care and protection at national, regional, and international levels. His earlier work focused on supporting separated and unaccompanied children, as well as families and children affected by HIV/AIDS. Stephen also draws on his own lived experience of care to engage in national and global conversations that highlight and elevate the voices of people with lived care experience, ensuring they are recognized in decision-making and supported in their well-being.

Anupa was born and raised in Kenya and is on the management team of Tile & Carpet in Kenya. Anupa is a Chartered Accountant and graduated from London School of Economics. Anupa has been a great supporter of Kickstart’s work in Kenya since 2011.

Solomon has been intimately involved with Kickstart since 2008 when he initially advised on the establishment of Nanga Organization, Kickstart’s partner organisation in Kenya. Following this, Solomon joined the board of trustees. Solomon holds two Masters Degrees of Law and works in the Africa taxation sector.

David is the Chairman of Kickstart’s partner organisation in Kenya, Nanga Organization. David has held this position since inception in 2009 and has been supporting Kickstart since 2008. David is a Chartered Accountant.
