Exciting Visit by Australian High Commissioner to Kenya!

On a chilly yet heart-warming Saturday at Olturoto Children’s Village (OCV), we were honored to host Her Excellency Ms. Jenny Da Rin, the Australian High Commissioner to Kenya, who was officially welcomed by the Olturoto Division Assistant County Commissioner Mr. Joab Menya and Snr Chief Stephen Ntirika at their offices.
Thereafter, she joined for our After-School Program activities, starting with a Geography lesson with the children, where she got to answer questions about Australia, including pointing out the continent on the Globe! Later, she engaged in an inspiring session with their parents/guardians. She also heartily joined the dancing session with James, Serah and Janet. We all had so much fun! The children were also excited to receive brand-new footballs from her Excellency and her husband.
Her visit ended with a tree planting activity, a powerful symbol of growth and hope for the future of our project. What stood out most was her humility and genuine connection with the children.
Her visit truly underscores the importance of our efforts to empower families and children through education, counseling, and life skills, while building meaningful partnerships to sustain and scale our vision. Ms. Jenny’s presence is a testament to the global potential of our local solutions and the transformative power of our community-driven change.
